  • Delta Airlines has relaunched its SkyMiles Experiences after a two-year hiatus, allowing travelers to use their miles to bid on VIP experiences, such as attending the red carpet at award shows.

  • Sleep tourism continues to grow in popularity, with an increasing number of hotels and resorts across the world offering sleep-focused stays.

  • Hilton announced it will be furnishing all of its 5,400 branded hotels’ fitness centers with Peloton bikes in response to the increase in wellness tourism.  

  • New York City hotel The James New York NoMad will be hosting Shawn Engel, the nationally acclaimed spiritual mentor, professional witch, and published author, as its on-demand Witch-in-Residence to offer metaphysical and spiritual services throughout October.

  • Hotel food and beverage outlets are adapting their drink menus to satisfy increasingly health-conscious guests by offering more non-alcoholic drinks. The sales of non- and low-alcoholic drinks have increased from $7.8 billion in 2018 to just under $10 billion in 2020.

Health-Related Updates

  • The CDC has suspended its country-specific list of travel advisories for COVID-19 as of October 3. A notice will now only be posted for a country if there is a concerning COVID-19 variant or other dire situation.

  • Norwegian Cruise Line is dropping its mask and vaccine mandates and testing requirements for Covid-19, effective October 4.
